THE SCHOOL
AND ITS TEACHING METHOD

Since 1991 the school of Italian language and culture E.STI.VE EuroStudi Veneto, the only school of its kind in the Province of Belluno and in the entire Dolomite range, has promoted courses for students and learners from many nations. We offer an approach to deepen their  knowledge of both the Italian language and culture by staying in the Region of Veneto for two or more weeks.
Our courses, divided into various classes based  on  the language level of each student, have as their primary aim the gradual teaching of both the spoken and written language.
All classes are composed of small numbers of pupils. This is vital to create and maintain the informal and relaxed atmosphere that enables students to overcome shyness and encourages their involvement in the class. Our specialised teaching materials - most of which are self-produced - are based on methods that demonstrate proper grammar and encourage oral communication. Our teachers, highly qualified and experienced in teaching Italian as a foreign language, encourage learners,  after due reflection on the language structures,  to apply their lessons to different real life situations.
Our program is thus based on the explanation of the main grammar rules, on their consequent usage in structured exercises tailored to the student’s level, on role-playing real life situations, on reading, examining and discussing actual documents of topical interest. In this way, we not only teach the language, but also Italian and local culture, art, history and customs.
The use of selected teaching material and the planning of many different optional activities are aimed to offer an insight into the ways of our  country. Our students are  no longer as mere tourists but as visitors and learners who discover  the Italian lifestyle by studying the language.
